Easter Thoughts

Easter is upon us, and I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you with a couple of thoughts.  I don’t know what your plans are for this holiday, but I hope that you will connect in some way with a local service celebrating the season and day.  I find that Easter is a holiday completely about Hope, and what can happen when you engage Hope in the seemingly impossible things of this life.

For Christians, Easter is the matchless remedy for all forms of hopelessness. It is the short answer to those who ask about the reason for our hope (1 Peter 3:15… If someone asks you about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. NLT). Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that is in you….). The resurrection functions as a guarantee for our hope that God will one day completely satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts.

How is your hope meter today?  Are the things of this life weighing you down in such a way as hope is growing dim?  I would encourage you to hang on….there is always hope to be found.  Even in the smallest amount, hope can begin the repair work of your heart.

Your issues are important to me; your life matters. You can count on it.

Praying for you this Easter. Blessings, Susie

Office Notes: The Journey to Hope Offices will be closed on Thursday, April 5th and on Good Friday, April 6th.  Office hours will resume on Monday, April 9th.  You can leave a voice mail either at the office or on Susie’s cell phone, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you.

Happy Anniversary to Journey to Hope - Celebrating 1 year today!

We are celebrating today at Journey to Hope, as today marks one year exactly that we opened our doors for business in Fredericksburg!  We are so very grateful for today, and for each one of you who have come through the doors of our office. We have been honored to journey with you this year, and you are a big part of the reason we are celebrating.  Praying blessings on all of us for this new year!

Happy New Year 2012

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on
them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New
Year's Day. " Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Happy New Year! I like the idea of New Year's Day, a new beginning, a fresh start, a
chance to do things differently, better - a ground zero kind of moment in
the year. I am praying that you will have a new beginning this year as well,
for whatever you face in 2012. God is with you, Emmanuel.

In Christ, Susie

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas is all around at Journey to Hope.  We have spent a lot of time decorating the office, with everything that we could find that would remind us of the Hope in this season! Thanks to many of you who helped us by painting and decorating ornaments while you waited for your appointment.  Your work has been amazing and beautiful. I will try to post a picture before Christmas.

We are working really hard at being present in the moment with you as we meet during this holiday season.   We are also mindful that, although this is a wonderful time of the year, it is also very painful for many of you.  In the last year, some of you have faced or are facing separations, divorce, painful relationships, even the death of a loved one.  Please know that we pray for you every single day at Journey to Hope, and we are trusting God with your present, your future, and even as you work to make sense of your past.

Every day is a gift...and there is always hope. Remember that.

Merry Christmas from the heart, Susie

P.S. Holiday Hours for Journey to Hope. Mark your calendars..  We will be closed from Friday, December 23rd through the new year. We will start back our regular counseling schedule on Monday, January 2, 2012.
